Pediatric Dentistry

At Pinetop Family Dental, children are some of our favorite patients! Good oral health needs to start at a young age. When a child’s teeth are properly cared for, their teeth and gums can be healthy for decades to come.

We understand that the dentist office can be an uncomfortable place for children, so we do our best to make the experience fun and memorable. We have flat screen TV’s mounted over each of the patient chairs allowing children to watch cartoons during the visit. This will ease their nerves and help them stay relaxed.

Our staff has been trained to help children feel safe and happy. You can trust Pinetop Family Dental with your child’s oral care.

How often should my kids visit the dentist?

Did you know dental visits are just as important for kids than for adults? Yes, baby teeth will fall out… But proper oral care from a young age will ensure long term oral health for your child.

Healthy jaw growth in children will encourage proper speech development and will allow adult teeth to grow properly at an older age. By providing oral care to your children we can prevent future problems and ensure long term oral health for years to come.

Kids are also more prone to cavities than adults. We suggest 2 visits to our office each year starting at age 1. This will allow us to prevent cavities and encourage proper development.

What if my child is too scared to see the dentist?

Is your child afraid of the dentist? This is a common fear for children, and can even carry into adulthood. Since oral care is so important, it’s crucial to work through these anxieties. But don’t worry, we’ll help you through the process.

The most important thing to do is find a dentist that’s great with children… Look no further, our staff is excellent with kids! Next, it’s important treat each dental visit like it’s a special adventure. Many parents take their kids out for ice cream or a treat after each visit.

Sometimes this just isn’t enough. If your child is too scared for dental work we offer sedation. We have a professional anesthesiologist who’s an expert at working with children. Come in for a sedation consultation, we’ll answer any questions you have.
